Legendary music producer Quincy Jones didn’t hold back in a new interview, opening up on a range of topics: The state of the nation, his praise for feminism, his sometimes contentious relationship with Michael Jackson, who he thinks killed JFK, and his different relationships with the Clintons and the Trumps.
Speaking of the Trumps, the 84-year-old dropped this intriguing tidbit in the interview with Vulture: He dated Ivanka Trump.
Yes, that’s right, Jones said he went on at least one date with Donald Trump’s daughter about 12 years ago, back when he would have been 72 and Ivanka Trump would have been 24 — and just getting started in her father’s real estate and reality TV businesses.
He told Vulture that designer Tommy Hilfiger, who was working with his daughter Kidada at the time, set them up, saying that Ivanka Trump wanted to have dinner with him.
“I said, ‘No problem,” Jones told Vulture. He also used a popular expletive, starting with “mother,” to praise her appearance.
Jones wouldn’t elaborate in the interview on what happened on the date or if and how the relationship unfolded from there. But as in everything else in the interview, Jones didn’t hold back in saying how much he dislikes Trumpism, and Trump himself, declaring that the “megalomaniac, narcissistic” former reality TV star is bad for the country.
Yet, he continued to say nice things about the daughter, a current White House advisor. “She had the most beautiful legs I ever saw in my life,” he told Vulture. “Wrong father, though.”
